FILMMAKER PANELS

The Filmmaker panels are NOT a ticketed event - This makes them FREE and open to the PUBLIC (that's you)

Panel I

“Cinematography and Editing - why they are so important and why the Academy put them back in the Oscar broadcast”

Saturday, March 23, 11:30 a.m. - Riverfront Community Center - 123 S Esplanade St, Leavenworth - ‘Women’s Waiting Room’

A discussion about how: a film isn’t a film without cinematography - and, a film isn’t completed without editing. Why there was so much backlash when the Academy announced plans to give these two awards (and a couple of others) during the commercial break and why even the shortest of short independent films needs good cinematographers and editors.

Panel members: Tim Guthrie - Nick Stout - Kate McFerren - Marcus Guider - Kyle Kelley

Panel II

“Effects on a budget - What’s the difference between VFX and SFX and how to make them happen in independent film.”

Saturday, March 23, 12:30 p.m. - Riverfront Community Center - 123 S Esplanade St, Leavenworth - ‘Women’s Waiting Room’

Best effects? That’s like blood and stuff right? Well, kind of.

A discussion about the difference between visual effects and special effects and how to make them happen on a budget of zero (because that’s what independent filmmakers have in the bank).

Panel members: Tim Guthrie - Tess Roams - Andrew Waggoner - Baron Redman - Patrick Rea
